Russia launches airstrikes on various points throughout Los Angeles in order to extract the weapon, leaving 90% of the city damaged or destroyed in the process including both U. S. Army bases, the Jaeger Academy facility, and the city itself. The U.S. launches a retaliatory airstrike on Chechnya which kills Russian President Aleksandrov and most of his cabinet, effectively ending the war between Russia and Chechnya with many casualties on both sides.
